The Chardonnay Affair, Gisborne’s celebration of International Chardonnay Day, has been postponed.
The event, which was set to take place on May 23-25, is hosted annually by The Gisborne Classic Chardonnay Group and includes a weekend of events celebrating all things Chardonnay for Gisborne and its visitors.
Organisers say the event has been postponed “due to a number of factors outside of our control” but did not elaborate further.
“We know this will be disappointing for many of you who were looking forward to a beautiful weekend in Tairāwhiti Gisborne celebrating our world-class chardonnay – but this isn’t goodbye forever!” said a social media announcement.
“Thank you for your ongoing support – we’ll be raising a glass with you again soon.”
The Chardonnay Affair has been running since 2019 and organisers say they plan to be back with a bigger event in 2026.
